What Degrees Can I Earn Through Verity?*
We want to equip our students with the foundation they need to go out and engage the culture and become world changers. Our tools for accomplishing this goal include an accelerated approach to college education, a committed focus on Christ, and an enriching community environment.
We’ve specifically developed fourteen degree programs that take advantage of our innovative learning approach. Each degree program has been designed in a way that allows the student to immerse themselves in learning one subject at a time while also practicing critical thinking skills for the subject matter at hand. Criminal Justice
OVERVIEW
While the tyranny of self-centered humanism has wreaked havoc on the value of human life in our day, God has, from the beginning of time, established the conditions men must meet if they are to live in peace and harmony with one another. Verity’s Criminal Justice program is designed especially for those students who feel called to be a minister of justice in a world that often calls good “evil” and evil “good.”
The English statesman Edmund Burke once said, “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” Verity endeavors to equip criminal justice students with the tools necessary to skillfully wield the scales of justice through an interdisciplinary study of crime and the justice system in the United States of America. The program includes studies in the professional and theoretical areas, along with practical training and development opportunities. Individuals desiring to enter the legal field should consider this degree as appropriate preparation for law school.

English
OVERVIEW
Any field based on language wields enormous power over a culture. Unfortunately, the area of literature is currently dominated by secular powers. There is a great need for godly writers to provide a Biblical voice in these battlegrounds for the hearts and lives of people everywhere.
Verity’s goal is to aid those with a heart for writing to develop the skills and credentials they need to impact that field for Christ. With the English program, students study literature and writing skills as they earn a BA in English. While the program does not provide specific preparation for teaching, students interested in a teaching career often choose this degree because it provides a good base for future training in education.

History
OVERVIEW
It has been said that those who cannot remember their past are condemned to repeat it. Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly commands His people to remember their history so that they will be equipped and prepared to understand their future. The American patriot Patrick Henry once stated, “I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.”
Since a proper understanding of history is crucial to those who will write the history of tomorrow, Verity seeks to help students view time and events through the prism of God’s providence, giving substance and structure to the study of history. Recognizing the creative work of God as the beginning of history, and acknowledging His continued intervention in the lives of men, students are prepared to effectively communicate the truth of history to others. Individuals seeking to enter the field of education as a profession may obtain state licensure through a post-baccalaureate teacher preparation program, alternate certification, or a Master of Arts in Education in their home states.

Humanities
OVERVIEW
In today’s world, a Bachelor’s degree serves as a valuable “gate pass,” opening up opportunities for work and ministry that would not otherwise be possible. Yet, every individual has their own specific life goals and plans, and those plans may require training in a broader range of subjects than what is included in more specific degree templates.
With the Humanities program, Verity seeks to provide a broad, well-rounded education while allowing more flexibility for students’ individual interests. Students are able to choose from a range of subjects, combining classes from other degrees or including courses not typically offered, such as Art or Interior Design. Academic Advisors work closely with Humanities students to construct a degree template that fits each student’s specific interests and goals.
Example Areas of Study

Liberal Studies*
OVERVIEW
In Ancient Greece and Rome, the seven liberal arts—grammar, logic, rhetoric, arithmetic, geometry, music, and astronomy—were considered essential to a thorough education. Today’s Liberal Arts do not contain the exact same subjects, but the inherited idea of a well-rounded education has made Liberal Arts an excellent degree choice.
With studies ranging from social studies to social sciences, and from life sciences to life skills, Verity’s Liberal Arts degree trains students to think, analyze, and interpret the world around them through a Biblical worldview.

Political Science
OVERVIEW
A society is influenced most by its leaders. Scripture repeatedly instructs that when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice. Verity believes it is imperative that Godly leaders be trained and prepared to serve the American people by holding office in the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government.
The objective of the Political Science program is to give students an understanding of how governmental systems operate, and to instill in them an unshakable commitment to the vision of self-government under the absolute and transcendent “laws of nature and of nature’s God” forged by America’s Founders.
Example Areas of Study

Social Sciences
OVERVIEW
Alexander Pope famously wrote that “the proper study of mankind is man.” Apart from the sanctification of Christ, humans are primarily concerned about themselves; their own needs, desires, and thoughts. Because of this, the social sciences have a humanistic tinge that clouds what could be opportunities for God’s truth to be proclaimed.
At Verity, we train Social Sciences students in three major areas: history, psychology, and sociology. These three areas of concentration equip students to provide answers to mankind and to point humans away from themselves and towards God.
Example Areas of Study

- Anthropology
- Geography
- Political Science
- Economics
- Psychology
- Sociology
Career Possibilities
